How do you know if you’re just tired or if you’re burned out? You know you’re in burnout if you just can’t bounce back. That’s what happened to Stephanie Melodia who, as a super achiever, kept getting signs from her body but could not slow down. She needed to keep going.
What happened to her is what happens to many high achievers who burn out. Although she normally never got sick, this time the accumulated stress got to her and she became ill for a long time.
