Sometimes we find ourselves in highly challenging situations at work and at home that take a toll on us. We stay in these situations when we don’t perceive we have a choice. We try to power through, but find over time that we run out of steam.
Dr. Laura Berenstain shares her challenges as a physician, mothers, and wife that led her to burnout, how because she thought she had no other choice kept her in toxic situations for far too long, and what she learned once she stopped focusing just on those around her and started to think about what she needs.
Laura’s message is a powerful one about women’s programming as caretakers and gender discrimination that contributed to her burnout but aren’t unique to just her. In addition, once she realized she could rewrite her story, she names elements related to gratitude, love, and resilience that provide hope for others struggling in the way she used to.
