The livestock industry in Asia is under numerous pressures from many angles, even as growth is on the cards. But these challenges are presenting opportunities for producers to embrace modern protocols. In the pig sector in Asia for instance, we see investments in greenfield projects, biosecurity, better genetics, and processing. Investment in genetics and automation in particular is seeing improved yields, controlled labor costs, and a reduction in wastage.
Even as ASF lingers, it does not appear to pose as much a threat as it did when it first surfaced. Plotting a path out of the pandemic and ASF, we see a growing effort towards clean and modern protocols.
