Shannon received her Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology from Texas Christian University and her Masters of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Wesleyan University. She owns a Highland Family Counseling, a private counseling practice in Grapevine, Texas. Before opening her private practice Shannon counseled individuals and their families receiving psychological treatment in both the hospital and outpatient level of care. Some of Shannon's work was featured in the book Solution Focused Narrative Therapy by Linda Metcalf. Shannon has advanced training in Emotion Focused Therapy and Gottman Method Couples Therapy. She is a Gottman Seven Principles Program leader and is trained as a PREPARE/ENRICH facilitator for premarital counseling. Shannon works primarily with couples and individuals struggling with relational issues and has a special interest in helping others heal and transform from the pain of relational trauma and betrayal.
