“Job shined as the world was watching.” Yes he did! Through all of the suffering, Job remained faithful to the Lord, and he remained faithful as a friend. We are continuing our podcast series “Standing in the Gap” focusing in on some of the amazing intercessors in the Bible. Today Stacy welcomes Roger Rock, a member of the Moms in Prayer International Board of Directors, to the podcast. Listen in as he shares what we can learn from Job’s example that will help us persevere in prayer even in times of suffering.

SCRIPTURES:
There once was a man named Job who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless—a man of complete integrity. He feared God and stayed away from evil. Job 1:1 (NLT)
As long as I live, while I have breath from God, my lips will speak no evil, and my tongue will speak no lies. Job 27:3-4 (NLT)
Then Job replied to the LORD,I am nothing—how could I ever find the answers? I will cover my mouth with my hand. I have said too much already. I have nothing more to say.” Job 40:3 (NLT)
I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. Job 42:5 (NLT)
I searched for a man among them who would build up a wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found no one. Ezekiel 22:30 (NIV)
We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the Lord was kind to him at the end, for the Lord is full of tenderness and mercy. James 5:11 (NLT)
