Chalene shares the personal struggles she encountered during her fitness career which included inadequate nutrition, sleep, rest and over exercising. But before we dive in, she wants to give a quick warning. We'll be discussing some triggering topics, such as addiction, body image, weight, and exercise. Chalene shares her own experiences and challenges with potential orthorexia and exercise addiction. You'll hear about the impact these obsessive health habits had on her life and the realizations she had along the way.
She will also discuss the unhealthy diet culture. The constant physical pain caused by excessive exercise and a lack of proper nutrition, and how Chalene found herself caught up in counting macros, calories, and analyzing ingredients, which ultimately had a negative impact on her well-being and mental health.
Chalene gets real, raw, and vulnerable about her battle with orthorexia and how even today still struggles with some of those old habits.
