Jenny is a retired registered nurse with 30 years of vast experience in hospital settings, ICUs, trauma units, the surgical floor, public health, and long-term care facilities. When she retired, doctors discovered a tumor wrapped around the carotid artery in her brain, a life-threatening condition that required specialized surgery. After a dangerous and complex procedure, she was comatose for days before awakening to find that she could not walk, talk, or recognize her husband. As she worked her way through the therapy that would aid her recovery and teach her to talk again, she became interested in writing. Writing was therapeutic and greatly assisted with her rehabilitation. The story she tells about the beginning of that process is fun and interesting. Today she has written a dozen children’s books and is nearing completion of her second medical thriller (with two more to come). She has also become a popular public speaker, discussing how striving to achieve goals, continually progressing, and persevering -even if only taking baby steps- will allow you to achieve great things regardless of obstacles and challenges!
