Though the Trump Administration is celebrating Columbus Day, Indigenous Peoples' Day continues to gain ground throughout the country. Ultimately, the latter is gaining because the system provides incentives for de-assimiliation. America's problem is not "intolerance" but a lack of will and confidence in its own identity. Tolerance does not lead to unity but to hatred and more opposition, and America will be unmade if it continues on this path. Perhaps we should eliminate Indian reservations altogether.
