Trauma can change your life. When someone goes through a traumatic event like an accident or the death of a loved one, they may suffer some mental stress, but did you know the rest of their body may also respond negatively? Trauma and intense stress can lead to a decreased immune function and make one more susceptible to illness. It can also cause an inflammatory response where joints swell and the body starts to ache. If you’ve been through something traumatic, be sure to take time to heal.
