Today our show is about how to overcome grief. We are all about staying young and healthy, but when you lose a loved one it can take a toll on your health and in some cases the stress can age you dramatically. We have a special guest coming up, author and speaker Mary McCambridge also known as “Mary Mac” with some great tips for working through grief.
Talk about our own experiences with loss and grief. Stories of patients and couples What health risks come with loss of grief? Exhaustion, inability to think clearly, loneliness, substance abuse One study found that the incidence of an acute heart attack increases 21-fold within 24 hours of the death of a loved one, before declining steadily with each subsequent day. In another study, British researchers found that older people who are grieving are more likely to have weakened immune systems and develop infections.
