Dr. Priti Golechha recently began taking on leadership responsibilities in her practice. So, she enrolled in leadership courses, joined the American Association for Physician Leadership, and sought out mentors. She discovered that there were very few women in leadership positions to whom she could look for mentorship and advice.
She considered how she might encourage more diversity in medical leadership. So she started a Facebook group where women physicians could interact with one another and with women physician leaders. Her goal was to achieve equal representation by women physicians in all levels of healthcare leadership.
After the Facebook group became quite active, she took the next step by founding a professional organization in which women physician leaders can find education, coaching and mentorship to assist them in taking on more leadership roles.
In today's episode, Priti describes her leadership journey. She also provides advice and encouragement for young women physician leaders. And she tells us about future plans for Physician Women in Leadership.
