THIS EPISODE FROM OUR ARCHIVES ORIGINALLY WENT LIVE IN APRIL OF 2019
Casey Donahew and his career in Texas Country Music can simply be described as the American Dream. With the help of his girlfriend turned wife, Melinda, they've made the Casey Donahew Band a household name in the genre.
Casey's career began in the Stockyards of Ft. Worth, TX. Honing and sharpening his craft here resulted in branching out further and further from his "backyard" as his career gained steam.
In this interview with the Burleson, TX native we get to revisit his early days of putting together his own band and initially touring with them in an extended cab pick-up often packed with six guys!
Casey gives much credit to the folks on his team including his previously mentioned wife, Melinda, who has been instrumental in managing Casey's career; something she still does to this day.
We talk about how social media had an early impact on Casey's career and he credits the once-popular Myspace platform as allowing his music to be heard by thousands which created new fans organically.
In the vein of realizing just how much technology and online innovation has impacted independent musicians reaching their fans quickly, Casey tells us about his upcoming July release, "One Light Town" and how fans can get access to seven songs off of the record instantly by way of download if they pre-order the full-length album.
Finally, we touch on one of Casey's bucket-list items as an artist which will take place when he gets a chance to be on the same show bill as the legendary Willie Nelson this coming summer on July 3rd, 2019.
