In this episode, we talk to women’s running pioneer Anne Audain. Anne was born in New Zealand and suffered through her younger years with bone deformities in both of her feet. After successful reconstructive bone surgery at age 13, Anne joined a local athletic club and that set her on the path to become a pioneer for women’s professional running. Throughout Anne’s career, she has qualified for the Olympic games six times, set world records, been honored by Queen Elizabeth II and she has been inducted into Running USA Hall of Fame, the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame and the RRCA Distance Running Hall of Fame. Anne’s incredible story can also be seen in a documentary titled Running Her Way, available now at anneaudain.com.
