5th to 11th October marks the third Malnutrition Awareness week, the campaign is driven by BAPEN
Their drive is to help healthcare professionals and the general public to understand the risk and help reduce malnutrition and dehydration in the vulnerable.
This week I also pose the question, what about undernutrition. This is becoming an increasingly regular problem. Are we forgetting that the rising levels of childhood obesity are not a correlating with the health of our children. So are they eating nutritious food?
And I am increasingly shocked by the very low cost of some processed foods. When you have a small budget for food, have very little time and few skills in the kitchen, how do you feed a family? With low cost ultra-processed food.
The Childrens Right to Food Campaign are working hard to try to ensure that all children get basic nutrition.
